FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a liquid organic hydrogen carrier constituting a mixture of aromatic hydrocarbons containing C5-C6-cycles, capable of attaching hydrogen atoms in the presence of catalysts, wherein the mixtures contain at least one compound selected from: fluoranthene, fluorene, and at least one compound selected from: anthracene, naphthalene, phenanthrene, benzene, wherein the liquid organic hydrogen carrier constitutes a mixture of two or three components, wherein, for the binary system, the component ratios are selected from 25:75 wt.%, 50:50 wt.%, 75:25 wt.%, and for a system of three components, the first component is taken in the amount of 25 wt.%, the second component in the amount of 26 wt.%, the third component in the amount of 50 wt.%, and the third component is selected from anthracene, naphthalene, phenanthrene, benzene. The invention also relates to a hydrogen cycle implemented when binding hydrogen at temperatures from 110 to 160°C and releasing hydrogen at temperatures from 320 to 350°C, including binding of hydrogen and release thereof from the liquid organic hydrogen carrier, indicated above, in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst, wherein the heterogeneous catalyst includes an Al2O3 carrier and Pt applied thereon, the content of platinum, Pt, is in the range from 0.1 to 2.0 wt.%, and/or Pd, the content of palladium, Pd, is in the range from 0.1 to 2.0 wt.%, or Ni, the content of nickel, Ni, is in the range of 6 to 12 wt.%.

EFFECT: use of the proposed carrier ensures higher energy efficiency.
