SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aerosol generating article. Aerosol-generating article comprises a substrate which generates an aerosol, a mouthpiece aligned with an aerosol-generating substrate, a rim wrapper wrapped around the mouthpiece and at least a portion of the substrate, generating an aerosol comprising a first attenuated line extending around at least a portion of the rim wrapper, a removable portion of the tipping wrapper extending further downstream of the first weakened line, located earlier along the flow direction part of the rim wrapper, passing earlier along the flow direction from the first weakened line. Upstream portion of the rim wrapper is attached to the aerosol-generating portion located downstream of the substrate, and an upstream portion of the mouthpiece portion. Product comprises first longitudinal edge extending along aerosol-generating article outer surface, and a second longitudinal edge opposite the first longitudinal edge, and which lies over the mouthpiece. Retaining wrap surrounds the mouthpiece and at least a portion of the aerosol-generating substrate, in such a way that the tipping wrapper covers itself in the overlapping section passing along the entire length of the rim wrapper, and between the first longitudinal edge and the second longitudinal edge. Section of overlapping passes by at least 45 degrees along the circumference of the product generating the aerosol, and the detachable part of the tipping wrapper is glued to itself by means of the area with the glue, provided on the overlapping section and arranged such that the removable part of the tipping wrapper provides an area without glue adjacent to at least part of the first longitudinal edge.
