FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of encoding video. Encoded bit stream comprising one or more encoded transformed images in input presentation of codewords is received. Method comprises receiving metadata transformations for one or more encoded transformed images in an encoded bitstream, wherein conversion metadata comprises parameters for generating a direct conversion function based on conversion metadata. Direct conversion function maps the pixels of the image from the first presentation of codewords to the input presentation of codewords. Conversion metadata comprises: a first parameter indicating the number of intervals used to represent a first presentation of codewords; a second parameter indicating a minimum index of the interval used during conversion; absolute delta values of the code word for each interval in the input representation of codewords and signs of absolute delta values of the codeword for each interval in the input presentation of codewords.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improved efficiency of coding.
