SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a beverage preparation system, a cartridge for a beverage preparation system, a beverage preparation unit and a beverage preparation method. Beverage preparation system comprises a cartridge having a capacity filled with the beverage substance, and a beverage preparation unit with a cartridge receiving device and a cartridge emptying device, which performs at least partial movement of the beverage substance from the container to the mixing chamber, wherein the beverage preparation unit has a fluid supply device, which ends in the mixing chamber, the system has a movable piston, which is located inside container and by means of cartridge emptying device can be transferred from initial position to final position, which enables to open the cartridge without back contamination of the beverage preparation unit.
