SUBSTANCE: disclosed is an absorbent article, such as a sanitary towel or pad, a method for folding said absorbent article and a package comprising a plurality of folded absorbent articles, where said absorbent article comprises a fluid-permeable upper sheet, a lower sheet and an absorbent core, containing at least two layers of core arranged between upper sheet and lower sheet, upper layer of core and one or more layers of core lying under upper sheet. Folding is facilitated by aligning with a first crease line located in a narrow transverse part of the core top layer, and a second crease line located at the rear transverse edge of at least one of or adjacent to the upper sheet. It is desirable that the absorbent article is neat and easily folded to obtain sizes of individual packages for easy placement of article in a bag or pocket and for easy disposal after use.

EFFECT: present invention aims at providing an improved solution for absorbent article folding and packaging.
