SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a folded absorbent article comprising an absorbent core comprising at least two core layers arranged between the top sheet and the back sheet, wherein first layer of core is located between upper sheet and second layer of core, core in its longitudinal direction has front part, rear part and intermediate part located between front part and rear part, defined in transverse direction width of transition zone between front part and intermediate part of core is less determined in transverse width of remaining part of core, first end part of article is bent around first crosswise fold line above product central zone, first fold line coincides or is adjacent to narrow transverse part of core, first layer of core passes in intermediate part and at least in part of front part of absorbent core, and the second core layer passes in the front, intermediate and back portions of the absorbent core, and the second end portion of the article is bent around the second and rear transverse crease line and above the central area, wherein the second crease line is adjacent to the absorbent core first absorbent core rear side edge, and (i) the first end portion is bent over the central zone and the second end portion is bent over the first end portion or (ii) the second end portion is bent over the central portion and the first end portion is bent over the second end portion.
