FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used in making molds by layer-by-layer synthesis. Layer-by-layer software and computer simulation of article on 3D printing device is performed. Sand is prepared and laid on the substrate in layers, a binder is applied on the substrate. Each layer is layer-selectively treated in accordance with computer sections of the model until the programmed shape of the article is formed. After application of each layer, quality of sand laying is controlled and binder application is controlled. Quality of sand laying is performed by means of surface quality scanner installed in 3D printing device opposite to printing field. Application of binder is controlled by external vision system.

EFFECT: higher quality of manufactured articles.
