SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of controlling movement and to a device. Method of controlling movement comprises steps of, when separating line, which previously detected, is no longer detected, estimating an imaginary dividing line based on the position of the separating line detected in the past and controlling the movement of the carrier vehicle such that carrier vehicle is in predetermined position relative to imaginary separation line. At that, when in the lane ahead of the vehicle-carrier vehicle is detected moving in front, imaginary separation line is evaluated based on the relative position of the separation line relative to the vehicle ahead. Vehicle movement control device comprises vehicle control circuit, which controls vehicle carrier motion such that carrier vehicle is in predetermined position relative to lane separation line, and separation lines evaluation circuit, which, when the separating line, which was previously detected, is no longer detected, estimates an imaginary dividing line based on the position of the separating line.

EFFECT: improved driver safety is achieved.
