SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method and device for controlling vehicle movement. Method of controlling movement for a vehicle comprises steps, on which a pedestrian crossing through which the vehicle is supposed to pass is indicated as a first pedestrian crossing, another pedestrian crossing located within predetermined distance from the first pedestrian crossing is also indicated as a second pedestrian crossing. Expansion process is performed to expand the area of at least one of the first pedestrian crossing and the second pedestrian crossing, overlapping each other or not at least part of first pedestrian crossing area subjected to expansion process, and at least part of second pedestrian crossing area subjected to expansion process, then moving object is detected in detection area using detector and vehicle motion is controlled based on detection result of detector. When determination is made with respect to that at least part of first pedestrian crossing area and at least part of the second pedestrian crossing area overlapping each other, setting the area including the first and second pedestrian crossings as the detecting region of the detector detecting the object next to the vehicle in question.

EFFECT: higher safety of vehicle driving is achieved.
