FIELD: methods of traffic control.
SUBSTANCE: method of controlling movement for a vehicle in which a target trajectory is detected and the vehicle under consideration is controlled to move in an autonomous manner. Method for controlling movement for a vehicle comprises steps of presetting a distance to the point ahead of the vehicle in question before the point ahead, trajectory of the considered vehicle is considered, at which the vehicle in question coincides with the target trajectory in the point ahead, if the vehicle in question moves to a predetermined distance to the point ahead. At that, determines maximum value of transverse displacement between estimated trajectory of considered vehicle and target trajectory and setting the distance to the point ahead and then controlling the vehicle in question to move in an autonomous manner based on a predetermined distance to the point ahead.
EFFECT: safe retention of vehicle on lane.
