FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to remote monitoring of liquid level, mainly oil products, incl. in non-stationary objects. Liquid level gage comprises a float with limiters and at least two light guides, wherein light guides located outside the vessel with liquid are separated from the float by a sealed non-magnetic baffle, on opposite sides of which there are ferromagnetic elements, wherein at least one of them is a permanent magnet and at least one is connected to the float, lightguide ends are optically conjugated and fixed relative to each other, and in the gap between them there is a shutter with possibility of movement, wherein the ferromagnetic element outside the container is mechanically conjugated with one of the elements of the "light guide-shutter unit" pair. Ferromagnetic elements located on opposite sides of the partition are made in the form of permanent magnets with oppositely located poles. Ferromagnetic elements located on opposite sides of the partition are made in the form of permanent magnets with longitudinally located poles.
EFFECT: creation of reliable fire-safe and noise-immune sensor for wide range of measured liquids, including viscous and opaque ones.
