FIELD: instrumentation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of instrumentation and can be used for measuring the level of liquid fuels and liquefied gases. The invention can be used in non-stationary objects. The liquid level gauge has a float and at least two light guides, while the light guides located outside the container with the liquid are separated from the float by a sealed partition. There are ferromagnetic elements on its opposite sides. At least one of them is a permanent magnet and at least one is connected to the float. The ends of the optical fibers are optically coupled with an element having a reflective surface, and a shutter is located in the gap between the optical fibers and the reflecting surface with the ability to move, while the ferromagnetic element outside the container is mechanically coupled to the shutter. In this case, the ferromagnetic elements located on opposite sides of the partition are made in the form of permanent magnets with opposite poles or with longitudinally located poles.
EFFECT: reliable fireproof and noise-immune sensor for a wide range of measured liquids including viscous and opaque liquids.
