FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to remote monitoring of liquid level, mainly oil products and other HIL, incl. in non-stationary objects. Fluid level gage comprising float, float travel limiters and at least one light guide, wherein the light guide located outside the container with liquid is separated from the float by a sealed non-magnetic partition wall, on opposite sides of which there are ferromagnetic elements, wherein at least one of them is a permanent magnet and at least one is connected to the float, the end of the light guide is optically conjugated with the element having a reflecting surface, with possibility of their mutual movement, wherein the ferromagnetic element outside the container is mechanically conjugated with one of the elements of the pair "light guide - reflecting element". Ferromagnetic elements located on opposite sides of the partition are made in the form of permanent magnets with longitudinally located poles. Besides, a spring element is placed outside the container and connected to at least one element of the pair "light guide - reflecting element".

EFFECT: creation of reliable fire-safe and noise-immune sensor for wide range of measured liquids, including viscous and opaque ones.
