FIELD: fault detection.

SUBSTANCE: use: for nondestructive inspection of rolling surface and adjacent areas of wheels of cars. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that manual with the keeper consists of a support frame, which part is a carriage with a return mechanism, ending with a handle, for which the operator pulls the carriage off when the scanner is installed on the wheel. Converters are located on opposite sides of support frame and position of their working surfaces corresponds to zones, which they control, namely areas of rolling surface, flange, inner and outer rim, as well as zone of crest hardening. Two converters of them are fixed on external brackets equipped with rollers. When the scanner is installed on the wheel, the operator aligns both rollers with the crest along which the scanner moves during inspection. At that, all sensors are matched with corresponding sections of wheel. Converters used are multielement integral converters which provide complete coverage of the control surface.

EFFECT: enlarging the list of non-destructive testing devices of rolling surface and adjacent zones of car wheels.
