FIELD: nuclear power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear power engineering, in particular to systems providing safety of nuclear power plants (NPP), and can be used in severe accidents leading to destruction of reactor housing and its sealed shell. In system of nuclear reactor core melt localization and cooling, upper thermal protection is installed, which is installed in zone between housing and cantilever truss, and lower thermal protection installed inside housing on upper cassette of filler.
EFFECT: invention allows improving reliability of system of localization and cooling of melt of nuclear reactor core, increasing efficiency of heat removal from melt of nuclear reactor core.
