FIELD: nuclear power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear power engineering, in particular to systems providing safety of nuclear power plants (NPP). Melt localization device includes a cooled body with a double wall, the bottom of which is recessed to the centre with a slope, filled with filler. Filler consists of several upper and lower cartridges. Each cassette has one central and several peripheral vertical accumulating channels. Diameter of central vertical channel-accumulator exceeds equal diameters of vertical peripheral channels-accumulators. Horizontal radial distributing channels connect vertical peripheral channels-accumulators with central vertical channel-accumulator. Horizontal radial channels-distributors of the lower cartridge are made with a slope. Angle of inclination coincides with slope of melt trap body bottom. Upper and lower cartridges contain ceramic plates made with micro channels separated by horizontal and vertical slit channels, and installed on each other.

EFFECT: invention allows improving safety of nuclear power station due to elimination of output of liquid and solid radioactive materials (corium) outside the device of melt localization.
