FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system which provides safety of nuclear power plants (NPP) and can be used in severe accidents leading to destruction of the reactor vessel and its sealed shell. System uses convex-shaped membrane (12) consisting of vertically oriented sectors (30) interconnected by welded joints (31), installed between flange (5) of multi-layer body (4) and the lower surface of truss-cantilever (3). Convex side faces beyond multilayer housing (4), at that in upper part of membrane (12) of convex shape in zone of connection with lower part of truss cantilever (3) elements (13) of thermal resistance are made, which are connected to each other by means of welding with formation contact gap (14). Inside multilayer body (4) there is additionally installed heat protection (15), containing external (21), internal (24) shells and bottom (22), suspended to truss-console (3) by means of thermally destructible fasteners.
EFFECT: high reliability of the system for localizing and cooling melt of the core of the nuclear reactor and high efficiency of removing heat from the melt of the core of the nuclear reactor.
