FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system ensuring safety of nuclear power plants and can be used in severe accidents leading to the destruction of the reactor vessel and its tight shell. Nuclear reactor core melt localization and cooling system comprises guide device, a cantilever truss, a filler for receiving and distributing melt, which is placed in a housing, along the perimeter of which there are water supply valves and a thermal protection is installed on the flange. On the housing flange there is a drum made in the form of a shell with reinforcing ribs installed on the inner side along its perimeter, which rest on the cover and bottom, having tension elements connecting the drum through the support flange welded to it with the housing flange. In the drum there are nozzles in which there are water supply valves with tight covers installed in the nozzles of the drum, hydraulic dampers connected to external water sources and drum water supply valves by means of supply, pressure, compensating and equalizing pipelines. Spacer elements provide an adjustment gap between the drum and the housing flange.
EFFECT: improving reliability of the system for localization and cooling of the core melt of a nuclear reactor.
