SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication, more specifically to a method of processing paging or paging failures, a network access device and a core network device. In the disclosed solution, if there is a need to transmit downlink data for a terminal device, the network access device determines that the paging failed, initiated by the network access device for the terminal device failed. Network access device transmits first pointing information to the core network device, which indicates that the paging failed. First pointing information is stored in the connection release request message, and the connection release request message is used to request release of the connection with respect to the terminal device between the core network device and the network access device.

EFFECT: technical result is higher reliability of data transmission.
