FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a separating element for separation of the first phase from the second phase. Separation element for separating blood serum from blood clot under centrifugal force in tube-type container, comprising floating body made of resilient material with a sealing edge passing on the view from above along the perimeter for sealing fit to the inner side of the tube-like vessel in the sealing position and at least one ballast element fixed on the lower side of the floating body, wherein density of ballast element is greater than density of floating body, and density of entire separating element lies in range of values between density of blood serum and density of blood clot. Floating body is disc-shaped, and ballast element is made in the form of multiple lugs, which with distribution along its edge pass down from lower side of this disc-shaped floating body.
EFFECT: invention provides an alternative separating element for separating the first phase from the second phase of liquid in a tube-like container.
