FIELD: non-destructive testing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-destructive testing and can be used to create internal defects of continuity in control samples for non-destructive testing of multilayer carbon fiber materials. A voltage is applied to electrodes 2 and 3 from the high-voltage generator 1, which creates between parts 9 and 10 of layers 5.2 and 5.3, respectively, an electric field with an intensity E. When an electric voltage is applied from generator 1, due to the anisotropic properties of the electrical conductivity of layers 5.2 and 5.3, a change in the electric potential will occur only in parts 9 and 10 of layers directly in contact with electrodes 2 and 3. The magnitude and duration of exposure to an electric field are selected from the condition of breakdown of the dielectric layer 6.2 in section 11, leading to the formation of a continuity defect at the breakdown site. The parameters of the created defect can be changed by adjusting the frequency of the applied voltage and its amplitude.
EFFECT: said invention is aimed at creating internal defects of continuity at a given depth and a given area.
