FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring equipment and can be used to determine the speed of a rail vehicle. The essence of the invention lies in the fact that a mechanism for setting high-frequency pulse signals and a reference vibration transducer for their registration located close to the mechanism for setting high-frequency pulse signals are installed on one of the axle boxes of one wheel pair. A receiving vibration transducer with the possibility of registering high-frequency pulse signals and transmitting them to a processing device with a narrow-band filter is installed on the axle box of the other wheel pair. The processing device is installed on a rail vehicle to determine the time from the moment of recording high-frequency pulse signals by the reference vibration transducer to the moment they are recorded by the receiving vibration transducer. The processing device also helps to calculate the speed of a rail vehicle.
EFFECT: invention improves the accuracy of ground speed measurements, increases the noise immunity of measurements, the ability to determine the speed in unsteady modes of thrust. It helps to determine the speed on a continuous track or on a track section between rail joints. The invention works in any weather conditions.
