METHOD FOR DETERMINING UNIVERSAL INDICES OF FRACTIONAL ANISOTROPY OF THE FRONTAL AND TEMPORAL LOBAR NEOCORTEX FOR THE EARLY DIAGNOSIS OF VASCULAR DEMENTIA Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B5/55

Abstract RU 2743802 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to radiation diagnostics, and can be used to determine universal indices of fractional anisotropy of frontal and temporal lid neocortex for early diagnostics of vascular dementia. Cerebrum is examined in the diffusion-tensor magnetic resonance tomography (DT-MRT) mode. Fractional anisotropy coefficient (FAC) indices are calculated in three zones of the neocortex: anterior radial crown, a lower longitudinal fascicle, an anterior thigh of the inner capsule, using the FAC value of the fourth zone - the central parts of the corpus callum, by formula: index FAC = FAC path / FAC splenium, where FAC path-value of the patient's FAC in a specific neocortical tract; FAC splenium is FAC value in a roller of a corpus callosum of the same patient. Determining the normal structural characteristics of the tract and the absence of the risk of cognitive dysfunction, if values of FAC indices in front radial crown more than 0.44, in lower longitudinal fascicle more than 0.59, in front hip of inner capsule more than 0.71. Risk of cognitive decline is determined if the FAC indices in the anterior radial crown are in range of 0.44 to 0.34, in the lower longitudinal fascicle within range of 0.59 to 0.47, in the anterior hip of the inner capsule ranging from 0.71 to 0.65. High risk of cognitive dysfunction or an existing disorder is determined if the FAC indices in the anterior radial crown are less than 0.34, the lower longitudinal fascicle is less than 0.47, and the anterior hip of the inner capsule is less than 0.65.

EFFECT: method provides diagnosing vascular dementia by determining an FAC index for three neocortical zones.
