METHOD FOR NEUROIMAGING DIAGNOSTICS OF DEGREE OF DAMAGE TO CONDUCTING PATHWAYS OF BRAIN IN CHILDREN WITH ENCEPHALITIS Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B5/55 G01N33/483

Abstract RU 2755649 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely to radiation diagnostics, and can be used for neuroimaging diagnostics of the degree of damage to the conducting pathways of the brain in encephalitis in children. Clinical and laboratory monitoring is carried out. Multiparametric MRI of the brain is performed using pulse sequences T2VI, FLAIR, SWI, DWI and 3DT1VI. In addition, a diffusion tensor study is performed in children in the age group from 1 to 14 years before and after intravenous contrast. Postprocessing processing of the received data is performed. The construction of maps of fractional anisotropy of the brain is carried out. With a decrease in the values of the coefficient of fractional anisotropy in the focus from 0.6 to 0.27 rel. units and no decrease in fractional anisotropy outside the focus in the contralateral region of the brain to less than 0.27 rel. units, an average degree of damage to the conducting pathways of the brain is diagnosed. When detecting a decrease in the values of the fractional anisotropy coefficient in the focus from 0.26 to 0.01 rel. units. and if there is a decrease in fractional anisotropy outside the focus in the contralateral region of the brain less than 0.27 to 0.01 rel. units, a severe degree of lesion is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method provides determination of the degree of the severity of damage to the conductive pathways of the brain in encephalitis in children by determining the values of the coefficient of fractional anisotropy in the focus and outside the focus.
