FIELD: electronics industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the electronics industry, in particular to the chemical treatment of the surface of microchannel plates (MCP), and can be used in electro-optical converters. The method of extracting alkali metals from a microchannel plate includes chemical treatment with an 8-12% solution of nitric acid, washing in deionized water followed by dehydration in isopropyl alcohol, and dry air drying. Before chemical treatment, microchannel plates are exposed to humidity of 90-98% at room temperature for at least two days. Chemical treatment with nitric acid solution and dehydration after the last washing is carried out within 25-35 minutes.
EFFECT: invention improves the parameters of preservation and reliability as well as increasing the shelf life of MCPs.
