TRANSLATIONAL MODEL OF CHRONIC HEART FAILURE: THE METHOD AND CRITERIA OF FORMATION ASSESSMENT Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B5/02 G09B23/28

Abstract RU 2744681 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE invention relates to medicine and namely to experimental cardiology and can be used to reproduce a translational model of chronic postinfarction heart failure in rats. They reproduce myocardial infarction for which a thoracotomy is performed in animals, the pericardium is opened, the heart is prolapsed into the wound by pressure on the chest, and a ligature is brought under the left coronary artery immediately after leaving the ear from under the ear, which is tied, completely stopping the blood flow. Then the heart is returned to its normal position in the chest and the wound is sutured in layers. On the second day after the operation, only those animals are selected in which anterior transmural myocardial infarction is diagnosed by a non-invasive echocardiographic method. All selected animals after 90 days from the reproduction of myocardial infarction are diagnosed with mixed dilated postinfarction heart failure. Revealing the formation of postinfarction heart failure includes the analysis of the results of echocardiography, morphometry, histological, biochemical and molecular research methods.

EFFECT: method provides the possibility of creating a translational model of chronic postinfarction heart failure in rats reproducing the main clinical and diagnostic signs of this disease due to the formation of chronic heart failure (CHF) by the 90th day which is characterized by significant suppression of the contractile function and significant dilatation of the left ventricle and morphohistological signs of heart damage that are characteristic of CHF.
