SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a cutting insert, and the cutting insert according to the present invention includes a top surface and a bottom surface oriented in opposite directions; first and second shorter side surfaces connecting the top surface and the bottom surface to each other and oriented in opposite directions; first and second longer side surfaces connecting the upper surface and the lower surface to each other, connecting the first and second shorter side surfaces to each other, oriented in opposite directions and being longer than the first and second shorter side surfaces; and a through hole extending through the upper surface and the lower surface, when viewed in the direction of the upper surface, the first longer side surface has two side portions, each side portion being inclined with respect to the central portion.
EFFECT: said invention is aimed at creating a cutting insert with improved bond strength with the socket surface and increased rigidity and cutting characteristics.
