SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of coating by spraying material in a molten state and can be used in defense technology and various types of ammunition of multifactorial and beyond-barrier action. The method of applying a reactive composite Ni-Al coating includes pouring a metered amount of powder materials into the detonation unit and applying them to the surface to be treated using detonation energy, while the Ni powder in the detonation unit is poured into the first dispenser, and Al powder is poured into the second dispenser at their ratio Ni - 55%, Al - 45%, and the application of powders to the treated surface is carried out by alternating detonation using the first dispenser and using the second dispenser with detonation modes optimal for each powder.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at improving quality of the Ni-Al coating obtained using detonation energy.
