SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the technology of detonation sputtering of composite coatings and can be used in defence equipment and in making various types of ammunition. Method of producing a reactive coating involves loading a composite composition containing 40 wt.% of Ni and 60 wt.% of Al into a dispenser of a detonation unit and applying it onto the treated surface using detonation energy. Detonation of gas mixture containing oxygen and acetylene in ratio of 2/1 is initiated by supply of electric spark. At that, coefficient of detonation installation barrel filling with gas mixture is 25–40%. Also disclosed are versions of a method of producing a reactive coating by detonation sputtering.

EFFECT: group of inventions enables to improve the quality of the coating.
