SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a composition of a carpet base layer, a carpet covering and a method for producing a carpet covering. The composition of the carpet backing layer contains 10-50 wt.% semi-crystalline polyolefins and 50-90 wt.% inorganic fillers. Moreover, these polyolefins are characterized by a content of at least 50 wt.% of (co) polymerized C3 - C8 alpha-olefins, and less than 50 wt.% of (co) polymerized C2-olefin. Inorganic fillers are characterized by a volume median particle diameter (D50) of 10 to 1000 μm. The composition of the base layer has a heat of fusion in the temperature range 10-40°C (∆H^{10 → 40°C}), which is less than 12.5% ​​of the heat of fusion of the base layer in the temperature range 10-170°C (∆H^{10 → 170°C}).

EFFECT: dimensional stability of the carpet is ensured regardless of atmospheric conditions.
