FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in aviation industry to study the processes of icing of aircraft. The installation contains a refrigerating chamber with a horizontal pressure-type wind tunnel with a centrifugal fan and a water-spraying system. Additionally, a vertical suction-type wind tunnel is installed in the refrigerating chamber, the aerodynamic channel of which is connected by a removable diffuser to the inlet channel of the horizontal wind tunnel fan.

EFFECT: possibility of investigating icing with droplets of various sizes in various meteorological conditions of the object's flight.
