FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of machine building and can be used in the aviation industry when conducting research in laboratory conditions of processes of icing of various objects of aviation equipment, in particular in conditions of falling snow and blizzard. Device represents a refrigerating chamber with an external refrigerating machine and an open-loop fan-type wind tunnel located inside the air-cooling chamber, and a device for production of flake ice. At that, produced flake ice is fed into wind tunnel by ejector feeding flake ice via pipeline. Obtained air flow with flake ice particles at the outlet of the wind tunnel channel interacts with the investigated object.

EFFECT: simulation of icing process in conditions of falling snow and blizzard with uniform distribution of ice particles imitating natural snow on flow cross section.
