FIELD: railway automatics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of railway automation and telemechanics, in particular, to the rail line parameters measurement means at various modes of the track circuit operation, in particular, to the automatic shunt resistance measurement devices. Method of automatic measurement of train shunt resistance includes measurement of distance to railway rolling stock along track line, counting from rail line boundary, marked by insulating joints closest to connection point to rail line supply, and calculating the train shunt resistance value as the difference in the rail track input resistance and the double-kilometer rail resistance product by the distance to the railway rolling stock along the rail line, counting from the rail line boundary, denoted by insulating joints closest to the connection point to the rail supply line. Device implementing said method additionally comprises voltage division unit, to inputs of which voltages are connected between terminals of reference resistance and rail line, multiplier unit, unit for setting resistance value, unit for control and setting mode of operation, unit of subtraction, radar range finder, unit for recording resistance of train shunt and indication unit.

EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy of measuring resistance of train shunt in operating conditions due to elimination of effect of rail resistance at different position of train shunt along rail line.
