SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of offshore production of a resource extracted from the earth, such as hydrocarbons, including crude oil and natural gas, as well as minerals that can be recovered by in situ leaching. A method of a floating installation is proposed, in which the floating installation comprises a hull having a lower surface, an upper deck surface, at least two connected sections located between the lower surface and the upper deck surface, and at least one stabilizer extending from the hull, while the upper the surface of the stabilizer is inclined towards the bottom surface and is attached to and extends from the body; at least one stabilizer is designed to correct the hydrodynamic characteristics. At least two connected sections extend downward from the upper deck surface to the lower surface. The at least two connected sections comprise at least two of the following: an upper section with sloping side walls, when viewed in section, extending from an upper deck section, cylindrical, in a side view, a tapered section, and a lower conical, in a side view, section, with sloping side walls extending from a cylindrical tapered section.

EFFECT: method of operating the floating installation allows to optimize the characteristics of the floating installation for drilling and production functions and for changing the location of the floating installation.
