FIELD: paper manufacture.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of manufacture of logs of paper material. The rewinding machine for manufacture of logs of paper material is comprised of a winding station configured to be fed with paper sheets and, consequently, multiple tubular cores. A first, second and third winding rollers are located at the winding station, wherein the rollers are configured to interact with each other for winding a predetermined amount of said paper sheets (3) onto each core. A fourth winding roller is located at the winding station, wherein the roller is connected with the corresponding movement-providing tools made configured to position the roller in a first inoperative position while the diameter of the log at the winding station is less than the first predetermined value and in a second operative winding position when the diameter of the formed log reaches the first predetermined value. The movement-providing tools are controllable to hold the fourth roller in the second operative winding position until the diameter of the log reaches the second target value exceeding the first predetermined value, so that winding the sheets onto the cores is implemented using the first, second and third winding rollers at the first stage ending at the first predetermined value of the diameter of the formed log, and at the next stage, forming of the log is finished with the interaction of the four winding rolls until the second target value of the diameter of the log is reached. The method for manufacture of logs of paper material includes: feeding paper sheets and, consequently, multiple cores to the winding station in the rewinding machine. The first, second and third winding rolls are located at the winding station, interacting with each other to wind a predetermined amount of paper sheets onto each core. The method accounts for availability of a fourth winding roller which is positioned in the first inoperative position while the diameter of the log at the winding station is less than the first predetermined value, and in the second working position when the diameter of the formed log reaches the first predetermined value. The fourth winding roller is held in the second operative winding position until the diameter of the log reaches the second target value exceeding the first predetermined value, so that winding the sheets onto the cores is implemented using the first, second and third winding rollers at the first stage ending at the first predetermined value of the diameter of the formed log, and at the next stage, forming of the log is finished with the interaction of the four winding rolls until the second target value of the diameter of the log is reached.
EFFECT: stability imparted to the formed logs, reduced amount of glue used at the gluing stage.
