SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a device for controlling a direction indicator. The direction indicator control device comprises a processor configured to control the flashing time of the direction indicator and determine whether the automatic or autonomous lane change function is set. An automated or autonomous lane change function is a function of changing lanes in an automated or autonomous manner from the lane in which the vehicle in question is moving to another lane in response to said driver operation. When determining that the automatic or autonomous lane change function is not set, the flashing time of the turn signal is set at the first flashing time, and when determining that the automatic or autonomous lane change function is set, the flashing time of the turn signal is set at the second flashing time, which is longer than the first flashing time.
EFFECT: reducing the load on the driver of the vehicle, which can change the lane in an automated or autonomous mode.
