SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for driving a vehicle. When the direction indicator of the considered vehicle is operated, slowing down the considered vehicle and performing a lane change, determining the presence or absence of the next vehicle that follows the considered vehicle in a predetermined area. When determining the presence of the next vehicle, setting the preparation time is greater than the preparation time when determining the absence of the next vehicle. Wherein the preparation time indicates the time from the operation of the direction indicator of the considered vehicle to the deceleration of the considered vehicle and the beginning of the lane change of the considered vehicle.
EFFECT: increase in safety is achieved.
