FIELD: foundry production.
SUBSTANCE: method of manufacturing multi-layer shell molds based on investment patterns includes layer-by-layer application of a refractory suspension to the block of investment patterns, sprinkling with granular material, melting of patterns, drying and calcination. Previously, a protective coating layer based on car enamel waste is applied to the pattern block using a spray gun, which is then dried. Starting from the second layer of the shell, a sprinkling containing an oxygen-containing substance and boric acid is used. As an oxygen-containing substance, waste from cleaning saltpeter baths of hardening is used, crushed to a size of no more than 1.0 mm, in an amount of 4.0-8.0 wt.% of the sprinkling.
EFFECT: stable quality of the resulting casting is ensured by reducing the impregnation of the shell mold with the pattern material, the crack resistance of the shell mold and the environmental friendliness of the process are increased due to the use of man-caused production waste.
