METHOD FOR MODELING POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER IN LABORATORY RATS Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B5/16 G09B23/28 G01N33/68 G01N33/74

Abstract RU 2746901 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates namely to experimental medicine, psychoneuroendocrinology, neurobiology, and can be used to model post-traumatic stress disorder in laboratory rats. The formation of a stressful environment for rats is carried out, for which the experimental animals are subjected to predatory stress by exposure to cat urine in an amount of 100 ml for 10 minutes daily for 10 days. In the next 30 days of the post-stress period, the experimental and control animals are kept under normal conditions. At the same time, the concentration of corticosterone in the blood is determined, and the concentration of gamma-aminobutyric acid, MAO-A, the content of norepinephrine is determined in the brain of the experimental and control groups. Behavioral characteristics are assessed every 3rd, 7th, 10th, 14th and 30th days after the last exposure to predator stress.

EFFECT: method provides the possibility of creating an experimental model, relevant to the state of complex post-traumatic stress disorder after chronic stress, due to a modified model of predatory stress.
