FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to experimental medicine, namely psychoneuropharmacology. Rats are exposed to predatory stress by exposure to fox urine in amount of 100 ml for 10 minutes daily for 10 days. Two hours after the last exposure to fox urine, behavioural activity is examined in an elevated plus maze (EPM) test for five minutes. Anxiety index (AI) and the number of freezing acts (FR) are determined. Derived values of AI and FR are used to determine behavioural phenotypes of stressed animals.
EFFECT: method enables producing an experimental model of chronic stress for preclinical tests of pharmacological preparations for the purpose of correcting stress phobic anxiety disorders.
