FIELD: wireless communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication systems and, in particular, to the signal measurement control in a wireless device. Methods and devices for the signal measurement control in a wireless device with the possibility of forming a receiver beam are disclosed. In one embodiment, the method is performed by a wireless device and includes steps in which the radio node is provided with the first indication of how the wireless device performs or will perform forming a receiver beam, and forming of a receiver beam is performed as part of the signal measurement procedure in accordance with the first indication of how the wireless device performs or will perform forming of a receiver beam.
EFFECT: faster and more efficient measurement for cell detection, cell identification, RLM, mobility procedure, and handover.
