FIELD: nuclear energy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of nuclear energy, in particular to systems that ensure the safety of nuclear power plants (NPP), and can be used in severe accidents leading to the destruction of the reactor vessel of a nuclear power plant, as well as in metallurgy and the chemical industry. To reduce the time of crystallization of the melt in the melt localization device, meridional ribs made of a material with high thermal conductivity are installed in the body wall, passing through the body wall and in contact with the medium inside the body, and immersed in the cooling liquid from the outside. The body of the melt localization device contains a wall and a bottom. The wall has meridional ribs, one end interacting with at least the liquid corium, and the other end with the washing cooling liquid, while the height of the meridional ribs at the point of contact with the cooling liquid is at least half of their thickness.
EFFECT: invention allows reducing the time of crystallization of corium.
