SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology. A group of inventions is described, including an oligonucleotide for treatment of tau-associated disease in an individual (variants), a composition for treatment of tau-associated disease in an individual containing the above oligonucleotide, and the use of the above oligonucleotide for treatment of tau-associated disease in an individual in need thereof. In one embodiment of the invention, a polynucleotide contains a sequence of nucleotide bases that is at least 90% identical to any of the sequences
G*G*T*T*G*ACATCGTCTGC*C*T*G*T* or
G*G*T*T*G*AmCATmCGTmCTGmC*mC*T*G*T*,
wherein nucleotides with * have the 2’-O-MOE modification and mC stands for 5-methylcytosine.
EFFECT: invention expands the arsenal of tools to treat tau-associated disease in an individual.
