FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, namely to modular and scalable flow batteries. The modular structure provides a possibility of flow batteries to separate the power provided by the battery block from the energy provided by the stored electrolyte. The power of the system can be determined by the number of the battery elements blocks, while the accumulated energy intensity of the system can be determined by the amount of the electrolyte available for use by the battery elements blocks. Catholyte and anolyte solutions can be stored in pipes with an adjustable length, and the electrolyte storage capacity can be increased due to the increase in the length of the pipes by an amount sufficient to provide the required increase in the electrolyte storage.
EFFECT: increased reliability and energy intensity of the flow batteries system.
