FIELD: separation of gases.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of application related to separation of gases, particularly to a membrane with facilitated transfer and a method of manufacture thereof, as well as to a method of processing a gaseous raw material stream using said membrane. The membrane comprises: a membrane base made of a polyethersulfone/polyethylene oxide-polysilsesquioxane mixture containing a polyethylene oxide-polysilsesquioxane polymer and a polyethersulfone polymer constituting an asymmetric membrane with a fixed surface layer, a hydrophilic polymer inside the pores on the surface of the surface layer of the membrane base made of a polyethersulfone/polyethylene oxide-polysilsesquioxane mixture, a hydrophilic polymer in a non-porous layer of hydrophilic polymer applied to the surface of the surface layer of the membrane base made of a polyethersulfone/polyethylene oxide-polysilsesquioxane mixture, and metal salts introduced into the applied hydrophilic polymer layer and into the pores on the surface of the surface layer of the membrane base made of a mixture of polyethersulfone/polyethylene oxide-polysilsesquioxane. The method includes the steps of: (a) obtaining said membrane base using a homogeneous solution containing polyethersulfone, N,N'-bis-[(3-triethoxysilylpropyl)aminocarbonyl]-polyethylene oxide monomer, a mixture of a solvent, one or more non-solvents and additives; (b) introducing a hydrophilic polymer into the pores on the surface of the surface layer of said membrane base, wherein said hydrophilic polymer is selected from the group consisting of chitosan, sodium carboxymethylchitosan, carboxymethylchitosan, hyaluronic acid, sodium hyaluronate, carbopol, polycarbophil-calcium, poly(acrylic acid) (PAA), poly(methacrylic acid) (PMA), sodium alginate, alginic acid, poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO), poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG), poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP), gelatin, carrageenan, sodium lignosulfonate and mixtures thereof; (c) applying a non-porous layer of hydrophilic polymer to the surface of the surface layer of the base membrane; and (d) infiltrating the surface of the membrane base coated with the hydrophilic polymer with a water metal salt solution. The method of processing a gaseous raw material stream containing between 99 and 1% mol of one or more C2-C8 olefins and between 1 and 99% mol of one or more C1-C8 paraffins includes: supplying a gaseous raw material stream to the supply side of said membrane with facilitated transfer, wherein at least 80% mol. of olefins in said raw material stream pass through said membrane with facilitated transfer resulting in a stream of permeate followed by extraction of the stream of permeate containing 90% mol. or more of olefin and 10% mol. or less of paraffin.

EFFECT: development of highly permeable and highly selective membranes with facilitated transfer for separating olefins and paraffins.
