In this case, photographing of each row is carried out from three angles: from the side of the vestibular, occlusal and oral surfaces. Based on the images obtained, volumetric models of each tooth are formed. The surfaces of the teeth are converted into a planar image, and the hygiene index is calculated using the formula HI = s/S, where s is the total area of the painted surface of the teeth, S is the total surface area of the teeth, or according to the formula HI = sxCav./S, where s is the total area painted surface of teeth, S is the total surface area of the teeth, and Cav. is the average coefficient of the degree of staining of the tooth surface, defined as where si is the colored area of the tooth surface with a color saturation corresponding to the coefficient i, and S is the total area of the entire tooth surface.
