SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine. The magnetic resonance imaging system is designed to determine if a structure of interest is located in a predetermined area of interest. The magnetic resonance imaging system contains: memory for storing a computer program code tool to make the magnetic resonance system perform the following steps: applying a multiband sequence of magnetic resonance imaging to simultaneously obtain the first slice of magnetic resonance data from the first slice location and the second slice of magnetic resonance data from the second and different slice location, with the first slice located near the first side of the area of interest and the second slice located near the second side of the area of interest; and a determination step to determine, based on the first and second slices of magnetic resonance data and prior knowledge of the structure of interest and / or its surroundings, whether the structure of interest is located in the area of interest. The magnetic resonance imaging system additionally contains a processor for the execution of a computer program code tool.
EFFECT: use of the group of inventions will improve accuracy of determining the position and shape of the structure of interest.
