FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to an apparatus and method for determining the stiffness of the patellar ligamentous apparatus. The apparatus is comprised of an extensometric probe, two video cameras, an electronic information displaying tool, an electronic computing device. Two markers are located on the extensometric probe. The video cameras are fixed on a tripod. During execution of the method the limb is placed and fixed with the knee joint in the field of view of the video cameras. The video cameras transmit the image of the knee joint of the limb to the electronic computing device. The extensometric probe is introduced to the field of view of the video cameras. The patella is palpated using the extensometric probe. Movement of the patella is determined based on the transmitted image using software. Stiffness of the patellar ligamentous apparatus is calculated based on the received data on the movement of the patella and the force of the applied pressure.
EFFECT: provided are a device and a method that allow calculating the stiffness of the patellar ligamentous apparatus based on data on the movement of the patella and the force of the applied pressure, research is facilitated and accuracy of quantitative measurement of the stiffness of the patellar ligamentous apparatus of the knee joint is increased.
