SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to cell biology, cytology and histology. To study the effect of the secretome component, Opisthorchis felineus granulin, on the formation of new islets of the pancreas, samples of pancreatic tissue are taken from persons who have suffered from superinvasive opisthorchiasis in their lifetime, in which the obtained samples are fixed in formalin, embedded in paraffin, and sections are made. The obtained sections are stained with hematoxylin and eosin, an immunohistochemical study is performed, the index of cell proliferative activity is calculated, and the quantitative parameters of the islets of the pancreas are assessed. Total number of islets over 20 microns in diameter is determined, and of these, the number of large islands over 200 microns in diameter. The islet endocrinocyte index (ECI) is calculated. When identifying islets with an area of ​​604.84-697.18 microns2, with a chaotic arrangement, crowding up to 1.4-3.05 in 1 field of view, with ECI - 0.31-0.35, with the absence or formation of a capsule, it is determined newly formed islets of Langerhans.

EFFECT: allows to identify newly formed islets of Langerhans, formed as a result of the action of the secretome component - granulin Opisthorchis felineus.
