FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: method is described for spectrometric determination of concentration of the rabies virus ribonucleoprotein by estimating the number of viral RNA molecules isolated from complete particles of rabies virus after their strain-specific binding (NRNA RV), based on the linear function of the dependence of NRNA RV on the content of rabies virus ribonucleoprotein in the viral suspension. The number of RNA molecules isolated from complete particles of rabies virus is determined by the spectrometric method when assessing the extinction at a wavelength of 260 nm. Based on the established optical density (OD260), the number of molecules of the isolated rabies virus RNA is calculated and the concentration of rabies virus ribonucleoprotein (CRNP RV) is determined using the developed linear function CRNP RV=9×10-10×NRNA RV+0.022.
EFFECT: invention expands the arsenal of spectrometric methods for determining the concentration of rabies virus ribonucleoprotein in raw materials for anti-rabies vaccines.
